Wow, thanks to Robin's spiffy new piece of technology, we are spoiled in our blogging endeavors.
Below is David in front of the Columbia. Little do we know what is in store for us on this boat housing 900 passengers en route primarily to Bellingham.

This is termed the 'solarium'. It is quite nice because there are roof and side windows providing a view out the back of the boat, but no rain, and heaters lining the ceiling.

Julia's view from her chair under the solarium.

This is the morning after we turned around twice after losing an engine on the columbia. We were up most of the night in delerium.

This tackalicious lounge helped us out during our extended Columbia stay. Pint of Alaskan Amber? $2.50.

Our meals were free the rest of the trip. This is what we saw out of the window at breakfast:

It's a humpback. We have seen many but most of the pictures are only a dot.

This is another comfort for us. Canadian Mist. We call it vitamin W.
Below are both taken from a pretty small town (Wrangell) on our way back up the sound. The town was pretty, and some of the residents had a lot to say:

Below is Petersburg. We were originally headed here. It took us two extra days to make it there -- the exact amount of time we planned on spending there. Because we couldn't stay there, we jogged into town while the ferry was docked and took a couple pics:

This was the sunrise Julia somehow woke up to on the way to Sitka. It was about 3am.

A cruise ship we passed at some point...

This is Robin and David in the hold of the Ocean Dancer, the trolling boat he is working on (so cute). They nearly fill up the hold with silver salmon each week currently. He works only with the captain/owner.

Hopefully we will have the chance to post more soon. We send our love. DJ.
